WARKTON, a parish in the hundred of HUXLOE,
county of NORTHAMPTON, 2 miles (E. N. E.) from
Kettering, containing 247 inhabitants. The living is
a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and
diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at-
£ 18. 16. 3., and in the patronage of the Duke of Bucqleuch.
The church, dedicated to St. Edmund, is chiefly
remarkable for containing sumptuous monuments of
the Montague family, two of which are by Roubilliac.
