county of BERKS, 7 miles (B. S. E.) from Newbury,
containing 6S inhabitants. The living is a discharged
rectory, in the archdeaconry of Berks, and diocese of
Salisbury, rated in the king's books at £3. 13.4., and
in the patronage of W. Mount, Esq. The church is
dedicated to St. Nicholas.
