WATFORD, a parish in the hundred of GUILSBOROUGH, county of NORTHAMPTON, 4 miles (N. N. E.) from Daventry, containing 331 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at £11. 7. 8., and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul. The Union canal passes through the parish, which is bounded on the west by the ancient Watling-street.
