WELLAND, a parish in the lower division of the hundred of OSWALDSLOW, county of WORCESTER, 3 miles (W. by S.) from Upton upon Severn, containing 453 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Bishop of Worcester, rated in the king's books at £8. 2. 11., and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. James.
