WESTON, a parish in the upper division of the wapentake of CLARO, West riding of the county of YORK, comprising the townships of Askwith and Wes- ton, and containing 475 inhabitants, of which number, 108 are in the township of Weston, 2 miles (N. W. by W.) from Otley. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of York, rated in the king's books at £6. 11. 5., endowed with £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Governors of the grammar school at Sedbergh, The church is dedicated to All Saints.
