WESTON-FAVELL, a parish in the hundred of SPELHOE, county of NORTHAMPTON, 2 miles (E.N.E.) from Northampton, containing 389 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at £16.16. 3., and in the patronage of the Rev. R. H. Knight. The church is dedicated to St. Peter. Henry and Elizabeth Ekins gave a house and land in support of a school for fifteen children, also a rentcharge of £1 for repairs; and Thomas Green, in 1739, gave certain other land in furtherance of this charity/ The Rev. James Hervey, author of "Meditations among the Tombs," for many years held the rectory of this parish, and was buried in the church.
