WHITACRE (OVER), a parish in the Atherstone division of the hundred of HEMLINGFORD, county of WARWICK, 3 miles (E.N.E.) from Coleshill, containing 292 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Coventry, and diocese of Lichfield and Coventry, endowed with £400 private benefaction, and £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Earl Howe. The church is dedicated to St. Leonard. Six poor children are educated for the interest of £40, bequeathed by the .Rev. Thomas Morrall, in 1740.
