WHITWELL, a parish in the liberty of EAST-MEDINA,
Isle of Wight division of the county of
SOUTHAMPTON, 8 miles (S. byB.) from Newport, con-
taining 488 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy,
annexed to the vicarage of Godshill, in the arch,
deaconry and diocese of Winchester. The church is
dedicated to St. Radegund.
