WILLINGTON, a township in the parish of BRANCEPETH, north-western division of DARLINGTON ward, county palatine of DURHAM, 4 miles (N.) from Bishop- Auckland, containing 221 inhabitants. It is situated on the north side of the river Wear, and is intersected by the great Roman road. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
