WILLOUGHBY (SILK), a parish in the wapentake of ASWARDHURN, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN, 2 miles (s. S. w.) from Sleaford, containing 197 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £14. 8. If., and in the patronage of Lord Huntingtower. The church, dedicated to St. Denis, is a handsome structure, with a well-proportioned tower and spire: the body is principally in the decorated style of English architecture, and the chancel of later date; the latter contains three stalls, some fine screen- work of wood, and fragments of ancient stained glass in the east window; the font is circular, with Norman shafts.
