WINDLESHAM, a parish in the first division of the hundred of WOKING, county of SURREY, 1 mile (EbyN.) from Bagshot, containing 1590 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Surrey, and diocese of Winchester, rated in the king's books at £10. 9. 7-, and in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. Hool Mill, in this parish, erected by an abbot of Chertsey, in the reign of Edward III., is subject to a permanent rent-charge of £8, in support of the poor.
