WINGRAVE, a parish in the hundred of COTTESLOE, county of BUCKINGHAM, 5 miles (N. B.) from Aylesbury, containing, with the hamlet of Rowsham, 6?5 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Buckingham, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £ 9. 9- 7-, and in the patronage of the Trustees of the late Earl of Bridgewater. The church is dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul. There is a place of worship for Independents. A small school is partly supported by a trifling annual subscription. At Rowsham there was formerly a chapel.
