WINWICK, a parish in the hundred of GUILSBOROUGH, county of NORTHAMPTON, 8 miles (N.N.B.) from Daventry, containing 137 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at £15. 6. 8., and in the patronage of the Bishop of Lincoln. The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. The Grand Union canal passes through the parish. Here are the remains of an old mansion, which have been converted into a farm-house; the gateway leading to it is a curious antique structure.
