WISSETT, a parish in the hundred of BLYTHING, county of SUFFOLK, 2 miles (N. W.) from Halesworth, containing 435 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Suffolk, and diocese of Norwich, endowed with £24 per annum private benefaction, and £400 ,royal bounty, and in the patronage of Sir B.C. Hartopp, Bart. The church, dedicated to St. Andrew, has two Norman doors and a round tower.
