WITHYBROOK, a parish in the Kirby division of
the hundred of KNIGHTLOW, county of WARWICK, 8
miles (N.E. by E.) from Coventry, containing, with the
hamlet of Hopsford, 309 inhabitants. The living is a
discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Coventry,
and diocese of Lichfield and Coventry, rated in the,
king's books at £8. 6. 8y endowed with £400 private
benefaction, and £800 royal bounty, and in the patronage
of the Master and Fellows of Trinity College,
Cambridge. The church is dedicated to All Saints. The
Oxford canal passes through the parish.
