WITLEY, a parish in the second division of the hundred of GODALMING, county of SURREY, 3 miles (S. W. by S.) from Godalming, containing 1264 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, with the perpetual curacy of Thursley annexed, in the archdeaconry of Surrey and diocese of Winchester, rated in the king's books at £17. 15. 10. The Rev. J. F, Chandler was patron in 1815. The church, dedicated to All Saints, is principally in the early style of English architecture. Many ancient coins of gold and silver have been dis- covered here.
