WROOT, a parish in the western division of the
wapentake of MANLEY, parts of LINDSEY, county of
LINCOLN, 8 miles (N. E. by N.) from Bawtry, containing
285 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry
of Stow, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in theking's
books at £3. 7. 8., and in the patronage of
the Crown. The church is dedicated to St. Pancras.
