WUERDALE, a township, joint with Wardle, in
that part of the parish of ROCHDALE which is in the
hundred of SALFORD, county palatine of LANCASTER,
2 miles (N.E.) from Rochdale, containing, with Wardle,
5629 inhabitants. The parliamentary commissioners
have proposed a grant towards the erection of a chapel
in this, township.
