YARBOROUGH, or YARBURGH, a parish in the
Marsh division of the hundred of LOUTH-ESKE parts
of LINDSEY, county of LINCOLN, 4 miles (N.E. byN.)
from Louth, containing 207 inhabitants. The living is
a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese
of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £9. 13. 6., and
in the patronage of N.E.Yarburgh, Esq. The church
is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. There is a place
of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. Yarborough gives
the title of baron to the family of Pelham.
