YAVERLAND, a parish in the liberty of EAST-MEDINA,
Isle of Wight division of the county of SOUTHAMPTON,
8 miles (E. S. E.) from Newport, containing 92
inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry
and diocese of Winchester, rated in the king's books
at £6. 6. 10., and in the patronage of J. A. Wright,
Esq. The church has a Norman door, but is principally
in the later English style.
