YELVERTOFT, a parish in the hundred of GUILSBOROUGH, county of NORTHAMPTON, 9 miles (N. by E.) from Daventry, containing 654 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at £25.0.10., and in the patronage of the Earl of Craven. The church is dedicated to All Saints. There is a place of worship for Independents. The Union canal passes through the parish. Twenty poor children are instructed for' £35 a year, arising from land bequeathed by Mrs. Ashby, in 1719. A school here was established by subscription.
