county of SOMERSET, 1 mile (E.) from Ilchester,
containing, with the hamlet of Bridghampton, 255 inhabitants.
The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry
of Wells, and diocese of Bath and Wells, rated in the
king s books at £26. 9. 2,., and in the patronage of the
Bishop of Bath and Wells. The church is dedicated to
St. Bartholomew. The river Yeo bounds the parish
on the south.
