KILMENAN, a parish, in the barony of FASSADINING,
county of KILKENNY, and province of LEINSTER, 2¾
miles (S. by W.) from Ballynakill, near the river Nore;
containing 316 inhabitants, and 1014 statute acres. It
is a rectory and vicarage, in the diocese of Ossory,
forming part of the union of Attanagh; the tithes
amount to £60. In the R. C. divisions it is part of the
union or district of Ballyragget.
