COALHILL, a village, in the parish of Campbelltown,
district of Cantyre, county of Argyll, 3 miles
(W.) from Campbelltown. The village is situated in the
western part of the parish, and is inhabited chiefly by
persons employed in coal-mines, from which a canal has
been constructed, for conveying the produce to the town.
A school is supported by the inhabitants.
