DAMHEAD, a village, in the parish of Arngask,
counties of Fife, Kinross, and Perth, 5 miles (S. W.) * '
from Abernethy; containing 138 inhabitants, of whom
56 are in the Fifeshire, 24 in the Kinross-shire, and 58
in the Perthshire, portion. This village is situated in
the central part of the parish, and in the vale through
which the great north road passes, leading from Edinburgh
to Aberdeen by way of Perth. A sub-post-office
was established here in 1838, in connexion with the
post-offices of Kinross and Bridge-of-Earn.
