FLODDA, an island, in the parish of Barra, county
of Inverness; containing 53 inhabitants. It lies near
the island of Helesay, in the sound of Flodda, and eastward
of the mainland of Barra. Flodda Sound opens
to the south, and ships of large burthen may ride in it
with safety at all seasons.
