GONOCHAN, a hamlet, in the parish of Fintry, county of Stirling, i a mile (E. by S.) from Fintry; containing 44 inhabitants. It is situated on a burn of the same name, and on the high road from Fintry to Campsie: the burn is a tributary to the river Endrick, and both have their source in the parish. In the hamlet is the parochial school, with the dwelling of the master, the latter a neat building erected by himself.
