HALBEATH, a village, in the parish of Dunfermline and district of Dunfermline, county of Fife, 3 miles (N. E.) from the town of Dunfermline; containing 46 1 inhabitants. This village is inhabited chiefly by persons employed in the extensive colliery in the neighbourhood, the produce of which is conveyed to the port of Inverkeithing, where it is shipped.
