HELESAY, an island, in the parish of Barra, county
of Inverness; containing 108 inhabitants. It is one
of a numerous group of isles that lie in the strait between
Barra and South Uist, from the former of which it is
about five miles distant. On the west of the island is
Ottervore Sound.
