LONGSTONE, a village, in the parish of Colinton, county of Edinburgh, l^ mile (N. N. W.) from the village of Colinton; containing 86 inhabitants. This is a small place, situated in the extreme north of the parish, and a short distance south of the high road from Edinburgh to East Calder. The Water of Leith passes close by the village, and very shortly enters the suburban parish of St. Cuthbert.
