MILL-OF-HALDEN, a village, in the parish of
BoNHiLL, county of Dumbarton, 1| mile (N.) from
the village of Bonhill; containing 147 inhabitants. This
place lies on the high road from Drymen to Dumbarton,
a little eastward of the river Leven, and near the southern
extremity of Loch Lomond. The inhabitants are
engaged for the most part in the bleaching and printing
works, and other branches of industry, which have increased
considerably of late years within the parish.
