NISBET, a hamlet, in the parish of Pencaitland,
county of Haddington, 2 miles (S. E. by S.) from Pension;
containing 43 inhabitants. It lies in the northeastern
part of the parish, on the western bank of the
Tyne water, and is chiefly inhabited by persons engaged
in trades. The weaving of cloth was formerly carried on
to some extent.
