PHILIPSTOWN, a village, in the parish of AbercoRN,
county of Linlithgow, 1^ mile (S. W. by W.)
from the village of Abercorn; containing 140 inhabitants.
It is a very small place, situated in the western
quarter of the parish, and having a few retail shops for
groceries: the population is chiefly agricultural. Philipstown
House stands a short distance north-eastward
of the village.
