RIESS, a village, in the parish of Wick, county of
Caithness, 4 miles (N. N. W.) from the town of Wick.
This is a small village situated on the coast-road between
Wick and Keiss, from which places it is nearly
equidistant. The town-land of Riess, gives name to the
iipacious bay on this coast, also called Keiss bay and
Sinclair bay.
