CLAWDDMADOC (CLAWDD-MA-DOG), a hamlet, in the parish of LLANWRTYD, hundred of BUILTH, county of BRECKNOCK, SOUTH WALES, 104 miles (w. by N.) from Builth, containing 299 inhabitants. It occupies a romantic and highly picturesque situation in the upper division of the parish, and is environed on two sides by lofty mountains: the small stream of the Cammarch, which falls into the Irvon, has its source in the vicinity. Here is a free school, endowed with about £12 per annum, in 1783, by Margaret Jones, who also devised about £15 per annum for clothing the poor.
