DOL-Y-GARROG, a township, in the parish of LLANBEDR, union of CONWAY, hundred of LLECHWEDD-ISAV, county of CARNARVON, NORTH WALES, 4 miles (N. N. W.) from Llanrwst. The population-is returned with the township of Arddr. This place is situated on the turnpike road between Aberconway and Llanrwst, where the scenery of the beautiful vale of the river Conway assumes its most diversified and picturesque character. A stream, issuing from LIka Cawlwyd, a lake on the lofty mountains to the south, and, rushing down with great force between steep banks, forming many pleasing cascades in its course, crosses the road here, and falls into the Conway. Over it is a lofty bridge of one arch, from which the varied scenery of the surrounding district is seen to much advantage.
