ISCOED (IS-COED), a hamlet, joint with Gwilly, in the parish of LLANEDY, hundred of CARNAWLLON, county of CARMARTHEN, SOUTH WALES, 135 miles (N. N. W.) from Swansea. The population is included in the return for the parish, of which this hamlet forms the northern portion. Gwilly is part of the ancient lordship of Kidwelly, which extended over the same district. The Gwili stream flows on the western boundary of the hamlet, which contains some agreeable residences and wellwooded enclosures on the right bank of the Longhor river. The road from Pont-ar-ddulas to Llandilo-Vawr passes through it, on elevated ground, embracing pleasing views of a rich and cultivated country on the right and left.
