LLECHWETHER-with-CLAWDDMADOC (LLACHWEDDOR), a township, in the parish of LLANWRTYD, union of LLANDOVERY, hundred of BUILTH, county of BRECKNOCK, SOUTH WALES, 11 miles (W. by S.) from Builth; containing 297 inhabitants. It is situated, as the name implies, on the southern declivity of a barren hill, near the left bank of the river Irvon, the vale of which is much admired for its picturesque scenery: the rateable annual value has been returned at £1177. There are some mineral springs within its limits, which have acquired considerable celebrity for their anti-scorbutic qualities; and DOlycoed House has been recently fitted up for the accommodation of the visiters. There is a bequest producing £12 per annum for the instruction of poor children of Llechwether and Clawddmadoc.
