RHIGOS (RHEGOES), a township, in the parish of YSTRAD-DYVODOG, union of MERTHYR-TYDVIL, hundred of MISKIN, county of GLAMORGAN, SOUTH WALES, 74 miles (W.) from MerthyrTydvil; containing 615 inhabitants. It is situated on the border of Brecknockshire, near the Hirwaun iron-works, and on the road from Neath to MerthyrTydvil. Hirwaun common is a high and extensive tract to the west of this place, and contains some coal-pits, from which tram-roads proceed to the Hirwaun works in Brecknockshire. Here is a day school, containing about 20 children, the master of which is paid 12r. weekly, raised by subscription, and in addition receives small payments from a few of the parents; also a Sunday school, in which about 40 males and females are gratuitously taught by Calvinist&
