WESTON-MADOC, a township, in that part of the parish of CHURCHSTOKE which is in the lower division of the hundred of CAWRSE, county of MONTGOMERY, NORTH WALES, li mile (S.) from Montgomery; containing, with Brompton and Riston, in Salop, 287 inhabitants. It is included in the manor of Cawrse, which belongs to the Earl of Powis, and is situated near the border of the English county of Salop, in which part of the parish is comprised. The rateable annual value returned for the township, together with those of Hopton Issa and Bacheldre, amounts to £3068; and its tithes, with those of Brompton and Riston, have been commuted for a rent-c e of X257, of which £255 are paid to the warden o Clun Hospital, and £2 to another.
