BARNACK, (Northamptonshire) on the r. Welland, bet. Maxey-Castle and Burleigh, above the place, where the Roman way,
called by the inh. the Forty-foot Way, from its breadth, appears in a high causey, especially by the little wood of
Barnack, where it has a beacon set upon the ridge of it, and so runs along by Burghley park-wall.
