BARNET-EAST, (Hertfordshire) a pleasant village, near Whetstone and Enfield-Chace, was formerly frequented for its medicinal spring, found out near 100 years ago, in a neighbouring common. The Ch. is mean, but the rectory very beneficial; and there is a delightful seat here (Ld. Trevor's) to which Q. Eliz. justly gave the name of Mount-Pleasant.
