BATHFORD, (Somerset) 4 m. N. E. of Bath, on the other side of the Avon, in the London road, was the manor of John, Ld.
Molins, a favourite of Edw. III. whose posterity enjoyed it for several successions, 'till at length it passed, by
marriage of a female heir, to the Hungerfords. In digging a room under ground in this p. in the last century, a pavement
was found here all chequered.
