BENENDEN, (Kent) near Rolvenden and Cranbrook, and adjoining to the p. of Fersham, bel. in the R. of Edw. III. to a family of the same name; but passed, by marriage of the female heir to Sir William Brenchley, Ld. Ch, Just of the Common-Pleas, as it did afterwards to the Mores of Ivy-Church, who removed hither, and new built the mansion-house, which they called More-court. They lived here above 100 years, and then sold it to Mr. William Watts, whose posterity have since enjoyed it.
