BLAGRAVE, (Wiltshire) not far from the upper and nether haven, was in the R. of Hen. VI. the Lp. of William, Visc. Lovel; but being forfeited to the crown, K. Hen. VIII. gave it to William, Ld. Compton, the ancestor of the Es. of Northampton, in which family it continued, 'till the R. of James I. when it was sold to Thomas Sutton, the founder of the Charter- house, and by him settled on that foundation.
