BLENKENSHIP, (Northumberland) near the Picts wall, just at its entrance into this Co. out of Cumberland, anciently bel. to
Nicholas de Bolteby, and was afterwards the manor and seat of the Blenkensops. A Roman altar was found here not many years
since.
