BOURN-HALL, (Cambridgeshire) 8 m. N. W. from Shengay, in the road from Cambridge to Oxford, and near that from London to
Berwick, had anciently a castle, the barony of one Pigot, and also of the Pewells, from whom it went, by marriage, to
Gilbert Peche, the last of whose family made K. Edward I. his heir. This castle was burnt down in the barons wars in the
R. of Henry III. Here was formerly a chantry, and Mr. Haggen had lately a seat here.
