BRAMCOT, (Nottinghamshire) near the r. Erwash, and b. of Derbyshire, bel. formerly to the nunnery of Sempringham, but after the ref. it was granted by Q. Elizabeth to William Mason and Charles Jackson, and the heirs of the former. There were some lands indeed bel. to the priory of Lenton, which were purchased by Richard Handley, yeoman, whose posterity enjoyed it till lately issue failing in Henry Handley, Robert Harding, his kinsman, and a barrister at law, got possession.
