BRIGHTWELL, (Oxfordshire) near Astrop-Wells, is remarkable for a chapel, where the ancestors of the Sunderland family have very stately monuments. It is, or was lately, the seat of the Stones, and stands not far from the Roman highway, Ikenildstreet. This place is called Brightwell-Baldwin to distinguish it from Brightwell-Salome, which lies a little way off to the S. near Watlington.
