CHIDDINGFOLD, (Surrey) in the road from Chichester, near Haslemere, is supposed to have been the manor of Sir Tho. St.
Leger, in the R. of Edw. IV. because he gave certain lands here to the chantry of priests, which he founded, at St.
George's Chapel at Windsor. In the R. of Q. Eliz. here were no less than 11 glass-houses; which, being petitioned against
by the neighbours as nusances, were put down.
